A new moon grief circle for women.
We will gather to share, reflect in and out, explore our grief, and connect in ways that nurture and sustain following the lunar calendar through a full cycle of the seasons of our grief.
Are you seeking a group of women to companion you in grief or through a time of transition and change? Are you seeking sustained connection within and with others that deepens and shifts with you through each month of the year?
Join us as we embark on a year together that is includes:
reflecting deeply (through journaling, art, meditation, movement, poetry, collaborative protocols and rituals; most forms welcome)
sharing stories, observations, and wonderings related to life review, grief and change mapping,
listening deeply, actively, and intently
compassionate questioning practices
co-creating a durable and trusting community with intention, transparency, and consent
opportunities for long-term authentic connection and witnessing
creating, crafting, and playing with art, objects, and symbols
nature as guide, caregiver, and metaphor
compassionate communication practices
learning about the ways grief, change, and death affect us individually and collectively
weeping in grief or joy without shame
all with optional additional book groups, grief walks, dance parties, and really good snacks.
A Common Rhythm at The Grief Center
Optional potluck from 5:00-6:00pm (enjoy if you can whether you bring anything or not)
6:00 ground (movement, meditation, inward connection)
6:15 orient (agenda review, big topics/themes/questions, major poem/passage/third thing for the evening)
6:30 connect inward (reflection opportunities in various forms)
7:00 interconnect (dyads, triads, quads)
7:30 interweave (whole group, share out)
7:55 consolidate and close (review our time, forecast next time, say/sing goodbye)
We will engage with supportive practices that help connect us within and together. We will bring deep presence, reflection, and reverence to our experiences in ways that are rare to find, especially outside of a retreat setting that is often a one-off experience far outside of our everyday lives. This is nourishing time of refuge and respite with other women each month to return to and rely on for processing deep grief, loss, or change as much as joy, belonging, and restoration. All of you—in your emptiness or fullness—is welcome here.
This is for any form of grief you are experiencing: a recent or long-ago death, anticipatory grief, loss of a significant relationship or identity or career, loss of a pet, loss of a place or planet, grief for what never was or what never will be. Experiences and content will be personalized to the needs of each individual and the group. Options for ongoing engagement in between gatherings will also be provided. Annual cohort members (those who sign up for all cohort meetings at registration) receive access to free or reduced fee programming at The Grief Center as part of cohort registration benefits.
