The Place for Grief Support, Community-Based Care, and
End-of-Life Planning in Vermont
The Grief Center is easily found in the heart of Essex Junction, Vermont. We have plenty of parking, access to plenty of area amenities, and are located on the first floor of a private, well-lit, and well-marked building behind Rocky’s Pizza.
We offer compassionate, personalized support and educational programming for people experiencing all forms of loss, death, grief, and change. From more traditional grief support circles to in-depth retreats to practical workshops for end-of-life planning, The Grief Center of Vermont offers community-based programs for everyone. Others also know similar terrain you are facing; you do not have to face grief and death alone. We are meant to connect more deeply—within ourselves and with others—during loss not become more isolated.
Welcome to The Grief Center.
We offer:
1:1 doula care for grieving and/or the end of life
small community support circles weekly and monthly
MONTHLY MONDAYS: We explicitly bring together people who have common experiences with specialized support groups for those grieving based on how the person died (for those grieving the loss of someone by suicide or substance use, for example), by the relationship (death of a parent/elder, child, spouse/partner/SO), as well as other shared experiences (divorce, fertility, pregnancy loss) or shared identities (caregivers, women, men, queer) that help promote the healing and connections uniquely offered by intentionally gathering in community. If you do not see a circle that you think is needed, say the word!
CREATIVE GRIEVING: regular opportunities to access our art room with options for facilitated projects or bring your own work-in-progress. Stitch, Glue, Weave, and Grieve runs at least monthly and more if the waitlist demands.
SOLSTICE CIRCLE: is a closed circle that stays together for the seven-week series. We will close the year together by reflecting on how our grief and loss has shaped us while getting practical about facing the holiday season and winter while also grieving or in a dark night of the soul.
