The word solstice comes from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still). Our grief seems to ask us to pause the sun in the sky, to stand particularly still. This grief support group is for anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one who wishes for an open place to personally process grief and loss while also connecting with others in a circle built on safety, compassion, and honesty.

This seven week winter solstice grief circle is offered again this year to explicitly support folks when we head into the winter and holiday season. The curriculum and conversations are so good and needed. This circle is for anyone who has experienced the death of someone significant to them who wants to take time to pause and reflect on how the loss has shaped/is shaping them. We get creative by making a grief mobius strip. We are fueled by some incredible poems. We get practical and real about how this time of year lands when grieving. This is self-care at its finest. Give yourself the gift of time and space with others who understand. Community Care Funds easily available.

There is an entry point for you. All people and experiences are welcome as they are. Every prompt will have sentence starters and alternatives as options. Participants will leave the group with daily practices (mindfulness, creative expression, rituals) and a deep personalized understanding of the grief process.
