Grief Support Circle for Vermont Youth
a cohort dedicated to supporting young Vermonters between the ages of 12-18 who are experiencing grief
DETAILS:
Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30pm
$210 for the seven week series
Register early; space intentionally limited.
A grief cohort especially for middle/high school students. In this seven-week cohort, we will consider how grief and loss impact the brain, body, relationships, and all facets of life. Participants will have the chance to connect with others who understand grief and loss, explore creative projects, learn self-care and resiliency practices, and apply practical approaches for supporting the grieving process (especially through the holiday season and winter). Curriculum will be personalized to meet the needs and interests of participants.
*Please complete the registration form collaboratively as caregiver and child. While grief is challenging and will present with emotions, it is the expectation that participants (of any age) are mature enough to maintain respectful behavior in a group environment. We will each get a chance to discuss and share our expectations for making the group safe together at our first meeting.
Jess Barewicz, M.Ed. is a former 7-12 school principal and teacher turned grief specialist. She is very excited to offer this unique community-based opportunity for Vermont adolescents experiencing grief. Snacks and all materials provided. All meetings are at 137 Iroquois Avenue, Suite 101 in downtown Essex Junction where there is plenty of parking and nearby public transportation options. Meetings are on-site with online option for weather/as needed after the first meeting.
